Malcolm Thompson Pumps is seeking a Business Development Manager to join our high performing team.

This role will see you utilising your networks and business development capabilities to drive new business growth with both existing and new mining customers in the Kalgoorlie, Goldfield’s region and key customers in South Australia.

The role can be based out of our Perth office or from within the Kalgoorlie area.

If not already based in the Kalgoorlie area, frequent travel to the area is a requirement of the role.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Promoting long term business partnerships with key customers by understanding their objectives, buying criteria and decision-making processes.
• Service allocated customers to meet both current requirements and develop further opportunities.
• Grow sales through the generation of leads and new business development.
• Recommend technically competent solutions to customers, seeking technical support for complex requirements.
• Working with Consulting and Site Engineers to have Malcolm Thompson Pumps products and solutions specified.
• Developing concise proposals and presentations for customers.

About You

• Either a successful track record in technical sales and new business development or looking to step up from the workshop into a sales role.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret specifications and engineering drawings.
• Relevant industry experience, with pump experience and an established network highly regarded.
• A passion for driving, delivering and over-achieving targets, with a focus on being a trusted advisor to customers.
• Excellent communication, relationship building and interpersonal skills.
• Valid drivers licence and sound computer literacy, with CRM experience highly regarded.
• Able to travel to the Kalgoorlie/Goldfields region for one to two weeks each month if not already based locally.
